Yep, I was told it’s the mother plant genes that determine the fruit/seed so you can’t tell an F1 hybrid without growing it! I believe most of the time the seeds never germinate but very occasionally they do. I’ve been growing this foxy lady a few years now and I think it’s time to rehome her. - Repeat the kelp extract/ water mix in 2 weeks.
- There is a slight blonde strip but that why i asked is the green form Always green or does it have.
- When looking at seeds on the Kopsick specimen(s), they will have a look that falls somewhere between those off Veitchia, and those off Foxtails.
- So today is my 24 hour soak, I added some super thrive to the water at 1 tsp per gallon and am hoping that my plant drinks it up!
- I highly recommend that you just plant this.
- They say the foxy lady is a rocket but the growth rate appears to be the same as seedlings.
- If so did they sprout around the same time frame?
Here is the 5th seed that failed float test. I picked up a few seed that was on the ground while taking pics. I have 2 that look just like a foxtail. I know of 1 other grower in Cape Coral that gets viable seed. The vast majority of the good looking seed are NOT viable. Sometime even though they are hard, they float.
Time will tell with my original plant… I’m encouraged to see some growth of the spear, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed. So after a couple weeks of treatment, the remaining leaves are browning but I have noticed some minimal growth (a couple millimeters) of the spear.

I was advised by the seller to apply a kelp extract/ water mix, then heavy water every other day, with superthrive/ water every five days. I marked the spear the day it was delivered, and there has been zero growth (I wouldn’t be concerned with that at this point, except that the leaf has now snapped) Foxyladies hold the variegation when mature.
- I have an f2 and am wondering how the look of the palm compares to f1.
- Do you have a FULL shade spot under some trees or overhang?
- When you germinated the seeds of the foxy lady and the foxtail did you plant them at the same time?
- For the past few months, specimens are in the 1gal pot size, with the palm being around a 1’ in height, most are variegated form.
- A guy in my area has them for sale pick up at 200 for a baby 1 gallon pot , he had 4 now he has 3 , i got one today and I am looking forward to watching it grow

One is variegated and the other is not?? Are they famous because they are the first to produce viable seed? Are they the first two foxy ladies cultivated??? Being in tropical Cairns, they were probably seedlings 3 yrs ago. Already have an account?
What’s the difference between the variegated and the green ? There’s been a couple times where large all green forms have been available, but it hasn’t been too often. Can anyone tell me where I can buy a small foxy lady or gear me in the right deduction thank you

The only mature ( and flowering /seeding ) specimens i’m currently familiar with are those in Kopsick’s collection. Floribunda had some f2 foxy ladies a while ago. The one I’m growing in Leucadia is from the same source and purchased about the same time, as this and another “Foxy Lady” I have. You did not get a palm that was basically bare root and a palm you specifically said you did not want!!! You got an amazing holy grail palm at a discount price. From the pic seems like your palm flew across the country unharmed.

From what I understand, this tree has been in the pot all along and was not recently potted from a field grown specimen. By the looks of it, drying and wilting, what’re the odds of a rebound if I get it in the ground with profuse water? I highly recommend that you just plant this.
Never noticed seed on the variegated Foxy located in another part of the collection. @96720 Taking a look at your foxy lady in the pic. I have an f2 foxy lady I might be interested in letting go if you are interested I can come pick up that palm at your convenience, deliver you $200 cash, plus the 3 Pseudophoenix seedlings in the pic if you would be interested foxy gold casino in selling. I have got palms from Flouibunda and jungle music and never had the problem I had with this palm of you are going to ship palms at least learn how to pack them!!!
/topic/33571-producing-wodveitchia-seed/ The seeds all had 2 white racing stripes. Therefore, you would expect the foxtails to have the wider leaves. Been in pots in the greenhouse for a couple years, very hard to tell. Mine are Veitchia Joannis that we’re planted about the same time. Wow that looks like a lot of growth for 6 months since planting.
